TL;DR — The short version

We collect almost nothing. Your test answers never leave your browser. We don't know who you are. We don't want to. If you use this site without clicking any external links, essentially no personal data is transmitted anywhere. The longer version below explains what little data does flow — and to whom.

1. Who we are

truself.xyz is a psychology test website operated as a personal project. The site is hosted on Netlify (USA) with the domain managed via Cloudflare (USA).

2. Data we do NOT collect

This is more important than what we do collect:

Test answers — processed entirely in your browser. Never sent to any server. Never stored anywhere.
Test results — calculated locally in JavaScript. We have no record of what any user scored.
Names, email addresses, accounts — we have no registration system. No login. No profile.
Cookies we set — none. truself.xyz sets zero first-party cookies.

3. Data that IS processed

3.1 Hosting — Netlify

When you visit truself.xyz, your request passes through Netlify's servers. Netlify may log standard server data: your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This is standard web infrastructure logging, not personal profiling.

Netlify is based in the USA. Data may be processed outside the EEA. See Netlify's privacy policy.

3.2 DNS & CDN — Cloudflare

Cloudflare handles DNS resolution and may serve as a CDN for this site. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata as part of normal internet routing.

3.3 Fonts — Google Fonts

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches these fonts, Google receives your IP address and browser information. This is a standard web font request.

See Google's privacy policy. Alternative: you can block Google Fonts via a browser extension without affecting the site's functionality.

3.4 Advertising — Google AdSense

This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. If active, Google may set cookies and collect data about your browsing behaviour to personalise ads. This operates under Google's own privacy policy and consent framework.

4. Affiliate links

Some links on this site (to Amazon, Blinkist, and similar services) are affiliate links. If you click them and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave truself.xyz and are subject to the privacy policy of the destination site. We do not receive any personal data from these transactions — only aggregate commission reports.

Affiliate links are disclosed inline as "sponsored" or noted in the site footer.

5. Ko-fi

If you choose to support this site via Ko-fi, your payment and personal data are handled entirely by Ko-fi and their payment processor. We receive only confirmation that a donation was made. See Ko-fi's privacy policy.

6. Gumroad (Premium results)

If you purchase a premium result PDF via Gumroad, your payment and personal data are handled by Gumroad. We receive your email address from Gumroad in order to deliver the product. This email is used only for product delivery and is not added to any marketing list. See Gumroad's privacy policy.

7. Sharing buttons

Result pages include share buttons for X (Twitter) and LinkedIn. These are plain links — they open the respective platform's sharing interface. No data is sent to any social platform unless you actively click the button.

8. Your rights (GDPR / DSGVO)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to processing.

In practice: because we collect almost no personal data ourselves, there is very little to act on. For data held by third-party services (Netlify, Google, etc.), you would need to contact those services directly.

9. Data retention

  • Test data — never retained (never transmitted)
  • Netlify server logs — retained per Netlify's policy (typically 30 days)
  • Gumroad purchase emails — retained until deletion is requested
  • AdSense/Google data — governed by Google's retention policies

10. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data via this site, please contact us at help@truself.xyz.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves — particularly if new features, analytics, or monetisation methods are added. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be noted here.
